Research Projects

APUS currently has three student-oriented research projects in the Space Studies program:

1. Supernovae Search

2. Exoplanet Search

3. Spirulina in Space

Each group provides hands-on experience for students with real data from the university's telescope and various open-source astronomy programs to analyze that data. Additionally, students can conduct individual research using these resources for class assignments/projects. Special skills needed for a successful career in astronomy are gained here, such as data analysis, effective communication, and teamwork.
