APUS Variable Star Research Program

The Variable Star Research Program is an observational astronomy initiative focused on conducting long-term photometric monitoring of variable stars. By analyzing light curves to classify stellar behavior, the project develops hands-on research skills and contributes high-quality observations directly to the American Association of Variable Star Observers (AAVSO) and the wider scientific community.

Having our telescope included in the University of North Carolina (UNC) Skynet platform allows students to gather and work with data in a streamlined fashion to ensure accurate results.
